Pembina Hills School Division invites applications for the position of Regular Full-Time Educational Assistant at Barrhead Composite High School. The Division provides education to approximately 3600 students in 16 community schools including two Hutterite Colony Schools and two outreach schools. PHSD also provides education to over 10,000 students from within and beyond our borders, through our online school, Vista Virtual School.

The School – Barrhead Composite High School is located approximately 120 km northwest of Edmonton and is a grade 7-12 school. At BCHS, we immerse students in a diverse and engaging learning environment. We strive to inspire passion for discovery, the confidence to embrace challenges, and the skills to pursue success.

The successful candidate will provide one-on-one academic support to a variety of students, as well as providing small group and/or classroom assistance to a range of student needs. Hours of work will be Monday-Friday, 33.5 hrs/week following the school calendar. Duties are to commence August 27, 2026 and will end June 24, 2027.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to set clear boundaries, communicate effectively and efficiently, and work independently
  • Ability to work in a flexible learning environment
  • Ability to establish positive relationships to support students in grades 7-12
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with students and adults
  • Must demonstrate the ability to work as a member of the school team, taking direction from the classroom teacher, special education lead teacher, and consultants
  • Enthusiastic and motivated to help students succeed
  • SIVA training would be an asset
  • First aid would be an asset
