Role Overview
The AI Engineer, Analyst will serve as a critical bridge between technology and business, developing Python-based AI solutions that directly address business challenges across portfolio management, origination teams and other business functions. We are seeking an AI SWE who has experience with LLMs, deep learning, reinforcement learning as well as an interest and ability to keep up with advancements in AI. The candidate should also be strong in software development/engineering and be comfortable with AI experimentation and productionisation.
Role Specification
Role Relationships- Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer.
- Partner with business stakeholders to triage and develop AI-driven applications to support core business processes.
- Collaborate with Technology partners to architect scalable AI platforms and bring solutions from concept to production.
- Engage proactively across the organisation to promote understanding and adoption of AI tools and capabilities.
- Design, build, and deploy Python or C# based AI and applications that solve specific business problems in central functions.
- Develop and fine-tune LLM-based solutions (e.g. RAG, prompt engineering, embeddings, vector search).
- Contribute to the firm's core AI solutions, ensuring scalability and production readiness.
- Move AI concepts from research and experimentation through to production deployment, with focus on training and inference infrastructure.
- Implement models using modern frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, JAX) with emphasis on production-grade code.
- Monitor and optimise model performance, maintaining organised research codebases that produce robust, reproducible results.
- Actively monitor latest developments in applied AI to identify and propose novel solutions for business challenges.
- Partner with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Communicate model behaviour, limitations, and risks clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Provide consultation on AI capabilities and best practices across the organisation.
- Contribute to AI governance, security, and responsible AI practices.
- Bachelors or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
- Strong academic background.
- Proficiency in Python, SQL and C#.
- Experience with model development and deployment.
- Experience with Generative AI / LLMs (Azure OpenAI, OpenAI, Anthropic, Claude, etc.).
- Working knowledge of Python with experience building production applications and services.
- Working knowledge of database technologies such as MS SQL.
- Demonstrable enthusiasm and practical understanding of various modeling approaches (neural networks, gradient-boosted trees, ensemble methods).
- Ability to understand and optimise end-to-end systems, from data ingestion through model training to production inference.
- Keenly analytic approach to problem solving with ability to break down complex problems.
- Confident communicator able to argue points concisely and deal positively with conflicting views.
- Able to establish and maintain close working relationships with stakeholders.
- Great communication skills with ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical colleagues.
- Comfortable working across organisational boundaries to drive adoption and impact.
- Ability to effectively manage time across multiple projects with competing demands and priorities.
