This is an excellent opportunity to join one of the leading Middle Eastern private banks operating in London, where you'll help keep the bank's data flowing smoothly and support the systems that teams across the business rely on every day. You'll get exposure to a wide range of tools and technologies, from data pipelines and reporting to application development, giving you a well-rounded view of how the bank's systems work behind the scenes. Initially offered as a one-year fixed-term contract, with scope to extend for those who perform well.

Job Purpose

Responsible for the development and delivery of pipelines (collect, validate and prepare high-quality data) to automate and streamline processes required by different departments across the bank. Support existing SSIS ETLs (overnight and intraday), proactively fine-tune and enhance existing codes to increase robustness and error monitoring. Support the internal IT department with changes and upgrades to software platforms. Develop and maintain UK and EU regulatory reports.

Principle Accountabilities & Duties

  • Software Development: Analysis of issues pertaining to problems or errors raised by in-house systems, i.e. CORE, SharePoint interface, Equation, Kondor, Eximbills, end of day cycle. Understanding business requirements in order to develop and deliver appropriate solutions based on system definition documents. Proficiency in advanced 4GL programming languages and able to apply to the fully development life-cycle. Keep abreast and apply software development's best practice.
  • Database Support: To build data pipelines within the SQL environment in SSIS packages, where required, introduce new field and data types for new information to be collated in the CORE environment. To build reports based on business requirements using SQL SSRS. To integrate with all the Bank's sub-systems using data abstraction and connectivity layers, i.e. ODBC, ADO.net. Ensure that the environment is running optimally and with high standard house-keeping procedures. To build tabular models (SSAS) for different business units.
  • SharePoint Integration: To integrate the SharePoint environment and Forms with Equation system to introduce automation of processes thereby eliminating the need for duplicate entry. To utilize web services to integrate from cutting edge technology into legacy systems such as Equation.
  • End of Day Cycle: To provide second and third level support for in-house programmes during the end of day cycle. To be able to analyze and rectify any problems raised in an independent and team scenario. To take ownership of a problem and deliver a solution in a timely manner. Provide out of office hours support.
  • Risk & Regulatory Duties: Maintain knowledge of all applicable regulatory requirements including the Bank's Risk and Compliance policies and procedures and adhere to these to avoid exposing the Bank to undue risk. Report policy/procedure breaches and areas of potential non-compliance and suspicions promptly upon identification in accordance with the Bank's Risk and Compliance policies. Accurately execute all controls within own area to minimize risk of policy, procedure, and/or regulatory breaches. Identify new risks/control gaps within own area and elevate accordingly to your Line Manager.
  • Training & Competence: Complete all annual mandatory regulatory refresher training as per the Bank's training plans and deadlines. Proactively seek to complete recommended technical and behavioral competencies training required for your role.
  • Conduct: Act in accordance with the FCA/PRA Code of Conduct.
  • Business Continuity: Fulfil all prescribed business continuity requirements as set out in the organizational or departmental specific plans or as instructed by the Line Manager/Head of Department.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, Experience Required

  • Qualifications/ Experience: Degree level qualified or equivalent. Microsoft SSIS – 5 years plus. Microsoft SSRS – 5 years plus. Power BI – 2 years plus. C# Programming for Web application – 3 years plus. Windows application – 2 years plus.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Software analysis and design good practice – essential. Second-line and Third-line Application Support – essential. Effective problem solving – essential. Critical thinking – essential. Dimensional modelling, Entity Relationship modelling, Normalised modelling – desirable. Data warehouse design concepts, (Inmon, Kimball) – desirable.
