We are seeking a professionally qualified and experienced Assistant Manager to join our highly experienced specialist VAT team in Cambridge.
This is a key role within a well‑established team, where you will support senior leaders in delivering high‑quality technical advice, driving continuous improvement, and contributing to the firm’s strategic and commercial objectives.
You will play a central part in maintaining the team’s performance and helping the wider firm achieve its aims.
In this role, you will provide VAT advice to clients and colleagues across a broad range of matters, working closely with clients, HMRC, and teams across the firm.
You will identify planning and marketing opportunities for both existing and prospective clients, support the delivery of complex technical assignments, and contribute to new client proposals.
You will also uphold the firm’s quality assurance standards while delivering an excellent level of client care, collaborating with colleagues to share knowledge and proactively resolve issues.
We are looking for someone who is ATT qualified (or equivalent), with strong VAT experience gained within professional services or a similar environment.
CTA qualification would be beneficial.
You will have excellent technical knowledge, the ability to communicate complex matters clearly, and a strong sense of commercial awareness with an interest in business development.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple assignments to deadline are essential, alongside a collaborative approach and the ability to build effective relationships at all levels.
