We are looking for a part time Practice Nurse (24 hours per week over 3/4 days) to join our team at Pelton and Fellrose Medical Group.

Main duties of the job

To provide and maintain a high standard of nursing care for patients, as well as providing nursing assistance to the doctors and other members of the Primary Healthcare Team.

Job responsibilities

  • Able to document consultations according to NMC Guidelines
  • Able to support patients in long term condition management, and carry out practice checks such as venepuncture, blood pressure monitoring, diabetic foot checks
  • Running Well Person Clinics and Health Promotion Programmes, facilitating change by providing holistic assessment and lifestyle advice, smoking, alcohol intake and exercise, including NHS and new patient health checks
  • Perform Cervical Cytology Tests
  • Ability to undertake ECGs
  • Assist in the provision of Minor Surgery and Coil fittings
  • Have some experience in managing Long Term Conditions, or be interested in developing this skill

Qualifications

  • RGN Qualification
  • Current NMC Registration
  • Cervical Cytology Qualification
  • Accredited training in Chronic Disease Management
  • Disclosure and Barring Service Check
