At Pelsall Village School we are seeking to appoint a highly motivated and inspirational SEND teacher to fill a vacancy in our Specialist Resource Provision called THE THRIVE HIVE.
Our provision supports a total of 16 children through the dedicated guidance of two full time teachers and six support staff. With a key focus, though not definitive, on communication and language with autism, the THRIVE HIVE is a fantastic setting where the school motto of 'Every Child, Every Chance, Every Day' is met every day.
The THRIVE HIVE has two classrooms and additional spaces to support sensory or behavioural needs. In addition there are dedicated changing facilities as well as a wonderful outdoor space which includes access to our Nectar area (Forest school style learning).
If you are an energetic, enthusiastic and outstanding teacher with a passion for SEND and desire to support children with EHC plans then we love to meet you and discuss how you could join our team and make a difference to the lives of many children.
You should:
- be an inspirational teacher with secure knowledge of SEND;
- have experience of working with children with Autism diagnosis alongside communication and language needs;
- create an irresistible learning experience for every single child;
- believe that all behaviour is communication of an unmet need;
- believe in 'Every Child, Every Chance, Every Day';
- love working as part of a team;
- be a courageous, innovative teacher who's not afraid to try something new and learn from that;
- be a reflective practitioner, adapting your practice in response to children's changing needs;
- be passionate about making the difference for the children you work with
- be able to communicate effectively with parents as an additional line of support for all children
We can offer:
- a tailor-made induction programme (whatever your career stage) including opportunities for developing practice in our own and other schools in Walsall;
- A newly developed SRP environment with amazing outdoor learning opportunities;
- Local Authority staff well-being programme;
- an exciting opportunity for extensive professional development alongside other professionals working in Walsall SRP environments.
- laptop;
- the support of a leading SEND practitioner, dedicated SLT and curriculum leads across the school;
- the best children and families;
- supportive, fun, dedicated, creative and talented colleagues;
- opportunities to support colleagues in a range of settings;
- an exceptionally strong Governing Body;
Closing date for receipt of applications is 12.00 noon Friday 13 November 2026, with interviews being held soon after. Visits are fully welcomed.
