About The Role
We are looking for an Infrastructure and Cloud Services Manager to join our established IT Operations team, supporting over 700 users across the UK. This is a hands‑on role for someone who enjoys a blend of technical leadership, operational delivery, continuous improvement and cross‑team collaboration. You will play a key part in driving modernisation across our infrastructure, cloud environment, cyber posture and digital transformation projects. As the Infrastructure and Cloud Services Manager, you will lead and enhance the delivery of core IT infrastructure and cloud services, ensuring performance, security, reliability and scalability across the business. Working alongside the IT Operations Manager, Cyber Security & Compliance Manager, IT Customer Support Team and Digital/AI teams, you will help shape our IT strategy and support a wide range of initiatives. You will also act as a primary escalation point for complex issues, work closely with approved third‑party partners, and ensure our systems align with ISO27001, Cyber Essentials Plus and wider business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Infrastructure & Cloud Leadership: Improve, support and optimise the existing network infrastructure, ensuring stability, resilience and continuous improvement. Oversee the administration and enhancement of Active Directory, Entra ID (Azure AD) and identity services. Manage and continuously improve the server environment, including physical, virtual and cloud‑based platforms, working closely with third‑party providers. Maintain and administer tools, monitoring systems and technologies required to support business operations. Ensure all infrastructure documentation is accurate, updated and accessible.
- Security, Compliance & Governance: Support the IT Operations Manager with the adoption and integration of Microsoft 365 developments within the ISO27001 framework. Work closely with the IT Cyber Security & Compliance Manager on vulnerability management, patching cycles, incident response and alignment with Cyber Essentials Plus. Ensure policies, standards and procedures are adhered to and reinforced across the environment.
- Digital & AI Enablement: Collaborate with internal Digital and AI teams to support cloud‑based solutions, automation workflows and innovative business tools. Contribute to modernisation initiatives that enhance productivity, performance and future‑ready IT capabilities.
- Operational Delivery & Stakeholder Support: Provide escalation‑level support for complex technical issues related to infrastructure, networking and cloud services. Work with third‑party suppliers and managed service partners, ensuring service quality and strong working relationships. Contribute to IT projects from design through to implementation, coordinating activities with internal teams and suppliers. Support end‑users where required on infrastructure‑related incidents or service requests.
About You
We’re looking for someone who is approachable, confident, technically strong, proactive and comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment. You will bring a blend of hands‑on expertise, problem‑solving ability and strong communication skills.
Qualifications, Experience And Skills Required
- Qualifications and Professional Development: Relevant IT, Computing or Infrastructure qualification (degree, HND, apprenticeship or equivalent). Evidence of ongoing professional development. Industry certifications such as Azure Administrator, M365, CCNA, ITIL, Security+, or equivalent. Training in cloud security or DevOps methodologies.
- Experience and Technical Expertise: Strong experience supporting Microsoft environments including Office 365, Azure and Entra ID. Proven background in managing and supporting IT infrastructure, server hardware and virtual environments. Experience with HPE and Dell server platforms. Hands‑on experience with network administration and troubleshooting. Experience delivering infrastructure change projects or cloud migration programmes. Experience working within ISO27001 or Cyber Essentials Plus environments. Exposure to automation, scripting or infrastructure‑as‑code (PowerShell, ARM, Terraform etc.). Experience working in multi‑site or large‑scale environments.
- Technical Skills: Strong understanding of Windows Server 2019+. Knowledge of DNS, DHCP, Group Policy and core AD/Entra ID services. Understanding of WAN/LAN/WiFi/TCP‑IP and associated network hardware. Ability to produce reports, dashboards and analytics for management use. Knowledge of modern endpoint management tools such as Intune and Autopilot. Familiarity with cloud security, MFA, Conditional Access and Zero Trust principles.
- Professional Skills: Strong communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills. Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners. Proactive, hands‑on approach to resolving complex technical issues. Strong organisational and time‑management abilities. Experience coordinating third‑party suppliers or managed service partners. Ability to lead small teams or mentor junior staff. Experience contributing to technology roadmaps or service improvement plans.
