Based in our Manchester office you will be part of a hardworking and growing team of Engineer/Consultants specialising in Structural Engineering projects around the UK. The office is based in an excellent location within the city centre, making the office very accessible.
As part of your role as a senior structural design engineer, you will be working in a variety of multidisciplinary projects. In-depth knowledge of basic structural engineering principles generally associated with building structures is essential for your role. The ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously to meet deadlines and other requirements is also an essential part of the role.
- Perform/check/review relevant structural engineering design calculations to fully meet the client specification in accordance with relevant standards, building codes and safety regulations.
- Collate project information, liaise, and engage with clients, architects and other third parties as required.
- Carry out visual surveys of building structures and produce structural appraisal reports as required.
- Supervise and delegate project workload to more junior members of staff and others as required.
- Preparing and presenting technical reports, proposals, and documents related to projects.
- Assist Project Leads in managing project budgets, schedules and resources.
Degree in Civil Engineering/Structural Engineering or equivalent.
- Considerable years in building structure analysis and design.
- Design of reinforced concrete and steel framed building structures.
- Design of timber, masonry, modular and other types of building structures - preferred.
- Producing fee proposals and managing project budget.
- Finite element software in structural engineering.
- Design software such as TEDDS, Concrete Centre Spreadsheets, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Tekla-3D Building Designer /SCIA/ Robot/RAM/ETABS, Auto CAD/Revit.
