About The Role
Based in our growing Edinburgh team you will assist in the production of the final AutoCAD drawings for a range of projects ranging from swept path assessments, junction layouts, cycleway design, housing developments, through to large scale renewable projects across Europe. The Edinburgh team offers a unique opportunity to work fully remotely; however, because the team meets up regularly you would still need to be able to access Edinburgh for team meetings. This should not preclude applications from anywhere within the UK.
As part of your role you will establish a sound understanding of the client brief, implement your initiative and technical skills, and support the wider multi‑disciplinary project team through safe, efficient and effective delivery of tasks to deadlines. You will be responsible for delivery of assigned tasks while acting under minimal supervision, planning your own work to meet given objectives.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Implement project requirements to fully meet the client specification in accordance with relevant standards.
- Have experience of AutoCAD; the use of Civil 3D would be beneficial but not essential.
- Prepare own discipline designs, drawings and schedules as identified in the Project Quality.
- Possess a solid understanding of Autodesk Vehicle Tracking; preferable to have modelling of oversized vehicles (Abnormal Indivisible Load).
- Assist other CAD Technicians and ensure all drawings are complete and sent to meet tight deadlines.
- Experience in QGIS is desirable but not essential.
- Work alongside the Project Manager to ensure completion of jobs.
- Manage your own workload and obtain all relevant information from the briefs.
