Responsibilities
- Undertaking technically accurate assessments and preparing clear technical reports.
- Supporting less experienced staff and working alongside geoenvironmental consultants across the company.
- Liaising with internal and external clients and managing expectations throughout projects.
- Maintaining and developing strong background knowledge and technical understanding, including the EAs Land Contamination Risk Management (LCRM) Framework.
- Applying technical and communication skills to ensure good report outcomes.
- Delivering high‑quality work in accordance with good practice, relevant standards, legislation, Codes of Practice, design methods, and Health ground gas and controlled waters.
- Preparing detailed quantitative risk assessments.
- Appraising remediation options, developing remediation strategy, and verifying and validating remediation.
- Supervising fieldwork for site investigation and remediation verification.
- Preparing waste classification assessments and waste acceptance assessments.
- Developing material management strategies and plans.
- Managing site‑won materials, including made ground, natural soils and secondary aggregates from demolition.
Qualifications
- Degree in environmental earth science, geoenvironmental, geological science or equivalent.
- Membership of a relevant environmental professional body.
- Chartered member (or working towards chartership) of a relevant professional body.
Experience
- Considerable years working in a UK consultancy, for private or public‑sector developers and operators on a range of development or infrastructure projects.
Skills
- Strong background knowledge and interest in geoenvironmental topics.
- Analytical, critical thinking and organisational skills.
- Full familiarity with UK land contamination policy, practice and guidance documents.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Collaborative nature, building strong relationships.
- Ability to work well in teams.

- Full UK driving licence with own transport.
