Role Overview Based in Croydon, Swindon or Exeter, you will join a growing multidisciplinary team of Water Engineers, working flexibly from home or office. The role offers a supportive environment, personal development and an opportunity to design deliverables for major UK water companies.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- You will support multidisciplinary design schemes, assist in delivery of projects in the Water sector and mentor junior staff.
- Project size varies from optioneering to detailed design, delivered directly for water companies or via design‑and‑construct contractors.
- Perform technical work activities to assure delivery meeting client requirements and standards.
- Take a lead role for your discipline on projects, preferably lead designer.
- Collate plans, schedules and monitor work to meet deadlines and quality assurance.
- Liaise and engage with clients and third parties as required.
- Supervise and delegate to other staff members as required.
- Check and approve own and other staff work, including third‑party design proposals.
- Promote health, safety, welfare and sustainability matters in all areas of work.
Qualifications, Experience and Skills:
Essential:
- Relevant Civil Engineering degree or experience.
- Chartered, incorporated or working towards this.
- Full driving licence.
Preferred:
- Working for water industry clients.
- Relevant design experience.
- Communication skills; verbal and written.
- Motivated with a positive attitude.
- Use of Microsoft Office.
- Use of CAD / Revit and a working knowledge of BIM.
- Working knowledge of sustainable practices.
- Hydraulic calculations, including use of Hades software.
- Working knowledge of BS7671.
