We are expanding our Water team and are looking to hire in our Croydon, Exeter and Manchester offices. Based in any of our Exeter, Croydon, and Manchester offices, you will be part of a dynamic multidisciplinary team of around 100 Engineers and Technicians. The offices are known for their friendly and supportive work environment where personal development is fostered across a breadth of interesting and wide-ranging projects. You will be part of our Water Sector Team providing design expertise in collaboration with major UK companies across the country including South West Water, Severn Trent Water, Wessex Water, Thames Water, Southern Water, United Utilities and Yorkshire Water.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- You will join an established team of Civil Engineers, supporting multidisciplinary design schemes, to assist with the delivery of projects within the Water sector, as well as providing support to a group of highly motivated, developing Engineers and Technicians.
- Projects vary in size and complexity and may involve optioneering, outline design or detailed design.
- The work may be directly for the water companies or via a Contractor as part of a design and construct contract.
- Perform technical or professional work activities to assure delivery which meets client requirements and is in accordance with relevant standards.
- Collate plans and schedules and monitor work to meet deadlines, company quality assurance and other requirements.
- Liaise and engage with clients and third parties as required.
- Take a leading role in promoting health, safety, welfare and sustainability/environmental matters in all areas of your work.
Qualifications, Experience & Skills
Essential
- Relevant degree or experience.
- Chartered/incorporated or working towards this.
- Considerable amount of post study work experience will be required.
- Working for water industry clients.
- Communication skills; Verbal & Written.
- Motivated with a positive attitude.
Preferred
- Full driving licence.
- Relevant design experience.
- Use of CAD / Revit and a working knowledge of BIM.
- Working knowledge of sustainable practices.
- Hydraulic calculations, including use.
