About VTM Highway Services
VTM Highway Services is a growing traffic-management company based in Worcestershire. We support utility, highways and infrastructure contractors with safe and reliable temporary traffic-management services.
Due to increasing demand, we are looking for enthusiastic Trainee Operatives and experienced 12AB Traffic Management Operatives to join our team.
Whether you already have traffic-management experience or are looking to begin a new career, we would be pleased to hear from you.
The Role
You will work as part of a team setting up, maintaining and removing temporary traffic-management systems. This may include signs, cones, barriers, lane closures, road closures and diversions.
Typical responsibilities include:
- Installing and removing traffic-management layouts safely.
- Following traffic-management plans, RAMS and site instructions.
- Loading and unloading vehicles and equipment.
- Completing vehicle and equipment checks.
- Keeping sites safe, tidy and compliant.
- Reporting hazards, defects, incidents and near misses.
- Working professionally with colleagues, clients and members of the public.
Some projects will involve night or weekend work, so flexibility is valued.
What We’re Looking For
Qualified operatives should hold relevant Lantra-approved qualifications, ideally including NHSS 12AB General Operative, and have practical traffic-management experience.
Previous experience is not essential for trainee applicants. We are more interested in finding dependable people who are willing to learn, work safely and become part of a reliable team.
All applicants must:
- Have the right to work in the UK.
- Hold a full UK driving licence, preferably with no more than six points.
- Be able to pass a drug and alcohol screening.
- Be comfortable working outdoors and carrying out physical tasks.
- Be willing to work flexible shifts and travel to project locations.
