This role focuses on ensuring Peli BioThermal's packaging products and operations meet all applicable international regulatory and environmental standards, particularly for temperature‑controlled packaging used in pharmaceutical, biotech, food, and healthcare sectors. The specialist will partner closely with Product Development, Quality Assurance, Procurement, and Sustainability teams to maintain packaging compliance, sustainability, and safety throughout the product lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and interpret packaging‑related regulations and ensure packaging materials comply with relevant regulations and standards (e.g., REACH, CLP, California Proposition 65, TSCA, EU 2019/1021 Organic Pollutants, PFAS, MCCP, GHS).
  • Create, maintain and manage compliance database and documentation for packaging materials and suppliers.
  • Ensure packaging materials and labeling comply with applicable environmental, health, and safety regulations across all markets.
  • Partner with Product Development and Design to ensure new packaging concepts meet regulatory and sustainability requirements.
  • Work with suppliers to obtain, review, and validate compliance data and test reports.
  • Collaborate with Sustainability teams to align packaging compliance with corporate environmental goals.
  • Coordinate packaging material testing for chemical composition, recyclability, and performance standards.
  • Assist in developing SOPs and best practices for product regulatory compliance.
  • Prepare and submit documentation, declarations of conformity, SDS and compliance statements for customers and regulatory bodies (e.g., EPR declarations, EUDR).
  • Monitor emerging environmental regulations and industry trends; communicate impacts and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Support with the interpretation of environmental regulations related to Peli BioThermal locations and operations in support of ISO14001 maintenance.
  • Support certification and documentation processes (e.g., RoHS, FSC, recycled content, composability certifications).
  • Conduct regulatory and environmental risk assessments.
  • Develop internal training and guidance materials for compliance best practices.
  • Support audits and inspections related to packaging and environmental compliance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager and follow company policies and safety guidelines.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Degree in Chemistry, Packaging Science, or Regulatory Affairs.
  • Solid understanding of chemical and packaging regulations.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

  • Hands‑on experience developing tools, dashboards and databases to allow other departments to confirm compliance for specific materials/suppliers.
  • Working knowledge of SAP.
