We are seeking a Quality Control Analyst to become part of an expanding Quality team to champion a culture of quality and embody the Pelham vision that βThereβs A Better Wayβ. This role will be responsible for conducting routine physiochemical and organoleptic testing on a vast variety of products, manufactured bulks and raw materials, as well as investigating non-conformances, managing standard libraries and maintaining lab organisation. The ideal candidate brings a knowledge of analytical testing techniques, strong scientific report writing skills and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally to enhance product quality, compliance, and operational efficiency. This is a key role for someone with a desire to learn detailed product knowledge about manufactured cosmetics and is passionate about driving quality excellence in a fast-paced, regulated manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducting physiochemical and organoleptic testing on manufactured bulk, raw materials and finished goods to ensure they meet company and customer specifications, including FTIR, viscosity and COAT (colour, odour, appearance and texture testing).
- Performing experimental work independently in accordance with SOPs and test methods.
- Completing non-conformance investigations and assisting with deviations, CAPAs and change controls.
- Maintaining lab cleanliness, stock reagents levels, performance checks of equipment and managing standard libraries.
- Assisting in maintaining controlled documentation, SOPs and records in line with quality standards.
- Working closely with other Departments (e.g. Manufacturing and Production) to ensure consistent product quality and compliance with procedures.
- Leading training programs for junior analysts and manufacturing operators.
- Championing a culture of Quality and CI (Continuous Improvement) across the Company.
Experience and Qualifications:
- BSc in a relevant scientific field or equivalent experience.
- Previous experience in a QC Laboratory or Laboratory-based role is preferred, ideally within the Cosmetics or similarly regulated industry.
- Strong colour and odour differentiation is ideal.
- Experience of LIMS or GMP record-keeping is preferred.
- Aware of quality standards (e.g. ISO 22716) and GMP requirements.
- Knowledge of DI principles and how it can impact laboratory work.
- Strong scientific report writing skills as well as problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and influencing abilities across different departments and levels of the company.
- Experience with RCA tools (e.g. 5 Whys, Fishbone).
- Passionate about quality and fostering a quality mindset in others.
