About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced procurement professional to join our team in a dynamic, hands-on role that spans the full procurement lifecycle from sourcing and supplier selection through to order placement, supplier management, and continuous improvement. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys both the strategic and operational aspects of procurement, working closely with internal teams and suppliers to ensure a resilient, cost-effective, and high-performing supply chain.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the end-to-end procurement process, including sourcing, negotiations, and purchase order placement
- Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships, including regular reviews and supplier visits
- Ensure continuity of supply, working closely with planning and operations to meet business requirements
- Lead or support commercial negotiations to deliver cost savings and value improvements
- Monitor supplier performance across quality, cost, and delivery, driving improvement where required
- Investigate and resolve supply and quality issues, working collaboratively with suppliers
- Support new product development through early supplier engagement and setting up new products and bill of materials
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction, process improvement, and efficiency gains
- Keep up to date with market trends and supply risks, implementing mitigation plans where needed
Key Skills, Experience and Attributes:
Essential:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a procurement or buying role
- Strong background in supplier management, sourcing, and purchasing
- Experience working within a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Confident communicator with strong negotiation and relationship-building skills
- Proactive, organised, and able to manage multiple priorities
- Strong commercial awareness and problem-solving ability
- Willingness to engage with suppliers, including site visits where required
- Strong analytical skills
Desirable:
- CIPS qualification (or working towards it)
