This role will be an essential part of the Enterprise Performance department, reporting to the Enterprise Portfolio Director. The successful candidate will lead the delivery of the annual three-year business plan and rolling forecasts, as well as providing insightful commercial analysis and reporting across the financial and technical performance of the business. Working closely with departments across the organisation, the role will drive the review and transformation of global financial planning and analysis processes to establish an effective, insightful and scalable framework aligned with the company’s strategic growth objectives. This is a group role operating in a fast-paced, international, public SEC reporting environment, and demands the ability to manage competing deadlines and perform effectively under pressure. This high-visibility position provides direct interaction with Executive Leadership at Fidelis Insurance Group and our underwriting partners, and requires outstanding communication skills and the ability to develop strong relationships with senior stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Leadership, team and culture: Lead and develop the Enterprise Planning & Analysis function, with direct line management responsibility for the EP&A team, ensuring clear accountability, capability development, and a high-performance culture aligned to Group CFO strategic objectives. Act as a trusted business partner to senior leadership, providing commercial insight to inform strategic decision-making and key business initiatives. Drive cross-functional collaboration across Enterprise, Underwriting, Finance and Actuarial teams to ensure coordinated planning, analysis, reporting, and alignment with the target operating model. Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships across the Group and trading partners, supporting the wider Enterprise Performance function as required.
- Analysis: Deliver board-level and executive reporting, providing clear insights into technical and financial performance, risks, and strategic outcomes. Provide robust financial analysis, including variance analysis, renewal impacts, and forecasting implications. Produce management reporting and dashboards that deliver a single, reliable source of financial information while supporting ad-hoc and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Planning: Lead the annual planning and reforecasting processes, consolidating technical plans from multiple underwriting partners, as well as expense, investment and capital plans across the Group. Oversee quarterly projections and rolling forecasts, ensuring timely and accurate inputs from global stakeholders. Develop, implement and enhance forecasting systems, planning tools, and processes to improve efficiency, transparency, and scalability. Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including implementation of new planning and forecasting solutions and transformation projects.
Skills and Experience
- Qualified Accountant (ACA preferred) with 10+ years’ post-qualification experience within the global specialty (re)insurance sector, including FP&A experience; exposure to actuarial, underwriting, risk or finance disciplines advantageous.
- Experience within listed insurance groups and multi-class environments, particularly specialty insurance and property reinsurance, required.
- Strong commercial and technical understanding of reinsurance and multi-class delegated authority business, with the ability to interpret insurance contracts, financial results, and associated legal documentation.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, able to operate effectively across a complex, multi-platform international environment and build strong cross-functional relationships.
- Highly analytical and systems-literate, with advanced planning tool and data modelling capability and “best in class” Excel and PowerPoint skills; detail-oriented with strong problem-solving capability.
- Proactive and delivery-focused, comfortable operating in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with the initiative and resilience to manage competing priorities and drive outcomes.
