We at PEI Group are looking for a Senior Research Associate, Investor Engagement to join our welcoming, diverse and growing team in New York. The successful candidate will be tasked with speaking to institutional investors, across the U.S. and South America to understand their private markets investment plans. The role is results-driven, and the successful candidate will be tasked with interacting with the market and extracting digestible pieces of content for PEI’s client base. The role demands high levels of self-motivation, the ability to lead by example, first-rate organisational skills, excellent verbal and written communication and an ability to confidently interact with senior investment executives in person and online.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Market interactions: Building and maintaining relationships with private markets investment professionals through regular phone, email and in person communications.
  • Content creation: Populating PEI’s structured database with information sourced from investors. Producing high-quality profiles and investor-intentions written content focused on LPs’ future investment strategies.
  • Key relationships: Maintaining a trusted network of investors that can be re-engaged over time. Building relationships with editorial, sales, events and marketing staff members who are also tasked with working with institutional investors.
  • Key success measures: Achieving key success measures in relation to the quality and quantity of outreach, including number of outbound calls/emails made and number/quality of successful interactions where proprietary information is sourced.

About You

Requirements:

  • 1-2 years of professional experience gained in a research environment or in a similar financial services organisation.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, conducting stakeholder interactions with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of financial markets preferably within the private markets’ asset classes.
  • The ability or willingness to learn the dynamics of the private markets industry to have informed conversations with its participants.
  • An inquisitive nature and a proactive, methodological, and enthusiastic approach to work.
