An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Infrastructure Investor team as a Senior Reporter in our London office. The senior reporter will play a key part – together with Infrastructure Investor’s Deputy Editor and Editor-in-Chief – in driving our EMEA coverage, across all formats. The role enjoys a good degree of autonomy in that the person performing it is expected to take the lead in generating story ideas, features and so forth, based on a strong contact book. This is a role for journalists who like to immerse themselves in the market, and ability to establish and maintain relationships with key industry players is crucial. As is the ability to leverage those relationships to produce exclusive, proprietary content that is unavailable elsewhere.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Write and post news, features, op-eds, and multimedia items on a regular basis.
- Pitch content ideas and canvass the latest trends and developments in the asset class.
- Generate exclusive and proprietary content on a regular basis.
- Assist with curating our content hubs and newsletter send-outs.
- Host, transcribe and write roundtables.
- Constant interaction with the market, keeping in touch with existing sources and developing new contacts to consolidate brand awareness and cultivate stories.
- Ensure optimal use of complementary data, involving close collaboration with Research & Analytics, where appropriate.
- When appropriate, collaborate with the PEI Events team, and moderate discussions at events hosted by the Company.
About You
Essential Experience:
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
- Experience in journalism or related field.
- Developing a network of contacts among senior professionals.
- Breaking off-diary stories.
- Writing analysis.
Essential Knowledge/Skills
- Exceptional organisational skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to research market trends.
- Ability to turn complex data into accessible editorial content.
- A high understanding of both print and digital journalism and the different approaches required.
