About the role

We at PEI Group are seeking a Research Associate, GP Engagement to join our growing, diverse and welcoming team. The successful candidate will play a key individual contributor role within our GP Engagement team, supporting the Senior Research Manager in delivering against the team's objectives while taking direct ownership of building relationships with private markets fund managers and generating high-quality content and data. This is a results-driven role that requires strong self-motivation, excellent communication skills and a genuine curiosity about the private markets landscape. The successful candidate will be comfortable engaging with senior investment executives and will thrive in an environment where performance is measured and valued.

The Research Associate, GP Engagement is primarily engaged in the following activities:

  • Market interactions
    • Build and maintain relationships with senior private markets professionals at fund management firms through regular phone, email and in-person engagement to collect data on fundraising activities.
    • Conduct proactive and structured outreach to fund managers globally, contributing to the volume and quality of proprietary/exclusive data sourced by the team, with a focus on recent market activity and upcoming fundraising events.
    • Represent PEI Group professionally in external interactions, reinforcing trust, credibility and long-term data partnerships.
  • Data delivery
    • Generate market updates, summaries and content pieces derived from conversations with GPs and private markets stakeholders.
    • Accurately populate proprietary fund manager data into PEI's structured databases, ensuring completeness and timeliness.
    • Ensure all data gathered meets defined quality standards and supports customer use cases.
  • Supporting team delivery
    • Support the Senior Research Manager in the day-to-day execution of GP engagement priorities and team objectives.
    • Contribute to a high-performance team culture by sharing knowledge, best practice and market insight with colleagues.
    • Assist in the coordination of outreach campaigns and engagement initiatives across the global fund manager community.
  • Key relationships
    • Work closely with the Senior Research Manager and fellow researchers to ensure consistent approaches and best practice.
    • Collaborate with editorial, sales and marketing teams to ensure GP engagement activity supports broader commercial and content objectives.
  • Success measures
    • Deliver consistently against individual activity targets, including outbound call and email volumes.
    • Aid in developing methodologies to persuade fund managers to submit exclusive insight regarding their fundraising activities.
    • Contribute to the team's overall fund manager interaction quality and proprietary data targets.
    • Support efforts to measure and improve fund manager satisfaction with PEI's content and data.
