We at PEI Group are looking for a Business Development Manager to join our welcoming, diverse, and growing team based here in London. The successful candidate will be working to drive new sponsorship sales across a range of PEI events for one of our leading portfolios β Sustainable Finance. From the outset they will take over the relationships with existing sponsors and develop their own account base via a mixture of face to face, video conference/presentation and telephone sales. Under the guidance of the Global Head of Sustainable Finance, the candidate will formulate the business strategy and tactics to drive high value sales from new and existing clients and create value rich sponsorship packages and proposals to deliver sustainable top and bottom-line growth.
Responsibilities
- Manage the entire business development process (prospect, qualify, proposal, negotiate and close) for your events and work effectively with other functions within PEI Group to overachieve sales targets.
- Maintain personal responsibility and maximise revenue for a defined portfolio.
- Grow and manage a pipeline for established events portfolio.
- Perform to a level of set sales KPIs (yield, client volumes, conversion rates, output etc) to drive top-line growth.
- Be able to manage their pipeline in the CRM and accurately forecast to management.
- Combine telephone, video conference/presentation and face to face sales to grow corporate accounts.
- Travel internationally representing PEI Group and growing our global account base.
- Keep abreast of industry news and constantly source new leads.
- Have the ability and market knowledge to engage C-level decision makers.
- Provide customer feedback and insight to the relevant teams regarding product and content development.
- Actively grow market knowledge through immersion in company products and seeking out knowledge and insight from colleagues and customers.
About You Requirements
- At least 3 yearsβ experience selling sponsorship packages to finance-focused B2B conferences OR direct experience within the alternative assets/finance industry.
- Direct experience of selling big ticket sponsorship items (Β£20k+).
- Experience working as key part of a wider team focused on delivering events.
- Budget planning ability β understands importance of yield preservation, re-ups, pipeline growth, proven ability to deliver ambitious targets (across whole portfolios).
- Ability to work to a short sales cycle.
- Strong team-working skills β both within conferences team and across event project teams (sales, marketing, logistics).
- Ability to research potential sponsor targets in existing and new market areas.
- Able to write well across a variety of channels (sponsorship proposals; email correspondence; post event report analysis).
- Experience communicating with time-pressured, senior level individuals (internal and external) on a regular and professional basis.
- Strong organisational and time management skills β takes a systematic and thorough approach to planning to ensure key deadlines across multiple projects are met.
- Has a clinical eye for precision and detail and refuses to compromise on quality of work output.
- An interest in sustainable finance (desired).
