About the Role

Our client, based near Southampton and the New Forest, is seeking experienced Composite Laminators and Boat Builders to join their team on a contract basis. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-performance marine projects, manufacturing and assembling advanced composite structures using carbon fibre and other composite materials. The successful candidates will have a strong background in composite lamination and carbon fibre boat building, with experience in wet lay-up and pre-preg carbon fibre processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare moulds, tooling, and materials for composite manufacture.
  • Perform wet lay-up laminating of carbon fibre, fibreglass, and core materials.
  • Carry out pre-preg carbon fibre lay-up, debulking, vacuum bagging, and curing processes.
  • Undertake vacuum bagging, resin infusion, and structural bonding operations.
  • Assemble and fit composite structures, bulkheads, decks, interiors, and marine equipment.
  • Read and work from engineering drawings, build specifications, and work instructions.
  • Trim, finish, and inspect composite components to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Identify and rectify defects where necessary.
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with project requirements.
