A newly launched energy division, backed by a well-established UK engineering group, is looking for an experienced Senior Solar Designer / Solar Design Manager to play a pivotal role in building and shaping a high-growth renewable energy business from the ground up.

The business is focused on delivering integrated commercial energy solutions including:
- Solar PV
- Battery Storage
- EV Charging
- Microgrids & Virtual Power Plants
- Lifetime Operations & Maintenance
This role is far more than a traditional design position. You'll be responsible for helping define engineering standards, selecting tools and suppliers, shaping processes, and supporting the growth of the wider technical team.

Essential Experience:
- Proven commercial & industrial solar design experience (50kW – multi-MW)
- Advanced PVSol capability including shading and yield analysis
- Strong experience managing G99 DNO applications through to approval
- Understanding of behind-the-meter systems and battery integration
- Comfortable engaging with clients, DNOs, and contractors directly
Desirable:
- Battery storage system design experience
- Solar carports, ground-mount or microgrid exposure
- EV charging infrastructure knowledge
- Experience within a UK installer, EPC or developer environment
