Join our Front of House team and help create exceptional experiences for our audiences, participants and visitors.
Pegasus is looking for friendly, organised and proactive Casual Duty Managers to join our Front of House team.
Reporting to the Front of House Manager, you’ll play a key role in delivering an outstanding visitor experience, ensuring the welcome, service and safety of everyone using, visiting and working at Pegasus.
Working as part of our seven-day Front of House operation, you’ll support performances, events, creative learning activities, ticket sales and the day-to-day running of our building.
This is a varied and rewarding role for someone who enjoys working with people, thrives in a busy environment and is passionate about providing excellent customer service.
As a casual worker, we’ll offer you work when it arises and you can choose whether or not to accept the work offered.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver a warm, professional welcome and excellent customer service to audiences, participants and visitors.
- Open and close the building and act as Duty Manager, ensuring the venue is safe, secure and operating smoothly.
- House manage performances, events, courses and creative learning activities, working with artists, facilitators, technicians, audiences and participants.
- Sell tickets and process bookings and payments using the Ticketsolve box office system.
- Maintain accurate audience and registration records, ensuring compliance with GDPR and data protection requirements.
- Support the safeguarding and wellbeing of children and young people, reporting concerns in line with Pegasus safeguarding procedures.
- Serve refreshments and snacks, maintaining high standards of food hygiene, stock control and cash handling.
- Reconcile daily takings and floats accurately.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Pegasus’s programme and help promote our activities.
- Keep front of house displays and information up to date.
- Respond confidently and appropriately to emergency, first aid, security and building issues.
- Follow Pegasus policies and procedures, including Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, Health & Safety and Safeguarding.
About You
- Has at least 12 months’ experience working in customer service or an events-focused role.
- Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Is resourceful and able to identify and resolve problems.
- Has a positive, enthusiastic and can-do attitude.
- Has excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to administration.
- Can work independently and as part of a team.
- Is committed to equality, diversity and creating opportunities for children and young people.
- Has experience of working with young people.
- Has working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Has experience of ticketing or customer management systems.
- Has experience reconciling cash and takings.
A First Aid at Work qualification, knowledge of GDPR, experience of emergency and fire procedures in a public building, and previous experience working in a theatre or similar environment would be desirable.
