Quantity Surveyor – Infrastructure

Overview

An opportunity for Quantity Surveyors to join a construction consultancy supporting the delivery of major infrastructure projects across the UK. The role sits within an established infrastructure team, working across a range of client programmes and commissions.

This position offers exposure to complex projects and the chance to contribute to cost and commercial management across the full project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with clients, colleagues, and project stakeholders
  • Administer contracts in line with agreed project objectives and governance
  • Deliver accurate cost monitoring, forecasting, and reporting through to project completion
  • Monitor cost variance and manage contract cash flow, ensuring timely and accurate applications
  • Work collaboratively with client and contractor teams to support delivery against programme, cost, and performance objectives
  • Manage change control processes, ensuring compliance with governance and best practice
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of cost forecasting and budgeting accuracy
  • Provide commercial insight and support to project stakeholders
  • Support the agreement of final accounts
  • Take responsibility for elements of project delivery and, where appropriate, lead packages or commissions

Experience and Skills

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively across project teams
  • Experience in contract administration (NEC3 Option C preferred)
  • Cost management and reporting experience
  • Understanding of change management and control processes
  • Experience in valuation and financial reporting
  • Knowledge of risk management principles
  • Familiarity with procurement and estimating processes
  • Ability to contribute to pricing and commercial decision-making
  • Collaborative approach, with a focus on achieving best-for-project outcomes
  • Ability to identify efficiencies and drive improvements across the project lifecycle
  • Sound understanding of construction industry practices, including procurement routes and value management

Qualifications

  • Degree qualified (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline
  • Working towards, or holding, membership of a recognised professional body
