Overview: We’re seeking a Planner or Senior Planner with proven experience supporting major infrastructure projects. You will play a key role in schedule development, performance analysis, and client engagement, helping to shape the successful delivery of complex programmes from start to finish.
What you’ll be doing:
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 or MS Project, ensuring alignment with project objectives and contract requirements.
- Work collaboratively with delivery teams to define scope, build work breakdown structures, and establish robust baselines.
- Carry out schedule analysis including critical path, float, risk modelling, and 'what-if' scenarios.
- Produce progress reports, S-curves, resource histograms, and dashboard visuals for both internal teams and client stakeholders.
- Provide early warning on slippage and recommend mitigation or recovery actions.
- Lead or support planning sessions with clients and contractors, challenging assumptions to ensure accuracy.
- Coach junior planners and promote best practice in planning across the team.
What we’re looking for:
- Experience planning across major UK infrastructure projects—rail, highways, defence, energy or utilities preferred.
- Proficient in Primavera P6 (essential), with additional experience in MS Project, TILOS or cost/risk tools seen as a bonus.
- Familiarity with NEC contract suite and its impact on schedule management and reporting.
- Skilled communicator with confidence engaging project teams and client stakeholders.
- Degree qualified in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong attention to detail, critical thinking and ability to operate independently or as part of an integrated team.
- UK driving licence and willingness to travel to client sites as needed.
