A leading consultancy is looking to appoint a Senior Cost Manager to join its growing Infrastructure team in London. This role will see you working across major programmes and projects, supporting clients in delivering complex infrastructure schemes while maintaining robust commercial control.
The successful candidate will play a key role in cost planning, contract administration and commercial management across the project lifecycle, ensuring projects remain financially controlled and aligned with programme objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Build and maintain professional relationships with clients, contractors and project stakeholders.
- Administer contracts in line with project requirements, governance processes and commercial best practice.
- Deliver accurate cost monitoring, forecasting and reporting through to project completion.
- Proactively monitor cost variance and manage contract cash flow.
- Ensure applications, valuations and financial reporting are completed accurately and on time.
- Work collaboratively with client and contractor teams to support programme delivery, cost control and value engineering initiatives.
- Manage contract change processes and maintain appropriate governance controls.
- Drive improvements in cost forecasting and budget accuracy across projects.
- Provide commercial advice and insight to project stakeholders.
- Lead negotiations on final accounts and ensure successful commercial close-out.
- Support commission management responsibilities where required.
Candidates should demonstrate experience or a strong understanding of the following:
- Cost management within infrastructure projects
- Contract administration, ideally under NEC3 or NEC4 contracts
- Change management and change control
- Valuation and financial reporting
- Procurement and estimating
- Pricing and cost planning
- Commercial governance processes
- Collaborative delivery within multi-disciplinary project teams
- Commission management and stakeholder engagement
Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related discipline (or equivalent experience). Ideally MRICS qualified or actively working towards professional chartership.
