Job Description

Our clients Cost Management team in Manchester is experiencing a period of growth, and due to increased client demand, they are seeking to expand their current capability. With this in mind, they have opportunities for aspiring and current Cost Managers to join an innovative and dynamic team, working on industry-leading infrastructure (opportunity to focus on one of the following sectors: Transport / Utilities, Transmissions/ High Voltage, Nuclear, Power/ Energy or Defence).

As a Cost Manager, you will be offered the opportunity to work with high-profile clients, develop your consultancy skills, and diversify your sector experience. They are keen to support those looking to progress their careers both personally and professionally.

Job Objectives:

  • Administering a variety of contracts in accordance with project objectives and policies.
  • Providing accurate project cost monitoring, forecasting, and reporting to completion in line with budget.
  • Proactively monitoring and managing cost variance and contract cash flow, ensuring that applications are made correctly and in a timely manner.
  • Collaborating with client and contractor teams to manage the delivery of project deliverables, KPIs, and objectives, including programme performance, cost control, and value engineering.
  • Managing contract change effectively, ensuring that projects remain within governance and adopt best practices.
  • Driving improvements in the accuracy of forecasts and budgets.

Qualifications:

  • Ideally Degree qualified (or equivalent) in a relevant subject
  • You will be working for a Construction Consultancy, Contractor (must have relevant degree) or working directly for a client focussing on projects in the Infrastructure sector (for example: Power/ Nuclear, Renewables, Utilities, Highways, Rail, Aviation) or Defence
  • Experience in Contract Management (NEC3, Option C preferred)
