This is a genuine leadership role, offering the autonomy to shape and grow an established Cost Management service while playing a key role in the wider strategic direction of the business.

If you're an experienced Cost Management leader with a strong Midlands network, commercial mindset and a passion for developing people, this is an opportunity to make a lasting impact. This award-winning consultancy is recognised as an Investors in People Platinum employer and holder of the Workplace Wellbeing Charter, placing people, flexibility and professional development at the heart of its culture.

Working across a diverse portfolio of projects, the business delivers strategic advice and project delivery across the built environment, with an ambitious growth plan for its Cost Management division. As QS Director, you'll lead and develop the Cost Management team while driving sustainable business growth across the West Midlands and beyond.

  • Leading the Cost Management service line and setting its strategic direction.
  • Developing new business opportunities through your existing network and client relationships.
  • Growing key accounts while identifying opportunities across existing clients.
  • Providing leadership, mentoring and development to a high-performing Cost Management team.
  • Taking ownership of the commercial performance of the division, including P&L responsibility.

  • Acting as a senior ambassador for the business, building long-term relationships with clients and industry partners.

This is a role focused on leadership, growth and commercial success rather than day-to-day project delivery. We're looking for an experienced Cost Management professional who can demonstrate:

  • A proven track record operating at Associate Director, Director or equivalent level within a consultancy environment.
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience managing financial performance and P&L.
  • An established Midlands client network with the ability to generate new business opportunities.

  • Contract Administration
  • Commercial Risk Management
  • Construction Contracts
  • Financial Reporting
  • Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline.

This is a rare opportunity to take ownership of a growing Cost Management division within a modern consultancy that genuinely empowers its leaders. A flexible, hybrid working culture focused on outcomes rather than presenteeism. The opportunity to diversify and grow an established portfolio of clients. Clear progression towards Executive leadership.

Performance-related bonus ~ Flexible hybrid working ~ Executive pension ~ Private healthcare ~ Professional development and leadership programmes ~ Clear pathway to further Executive and Board-level opportunities.

This is an outstanding opportunity for an ambitious QS Director who wants to lead a growing Cost Management business, influence strategic direction and build a lasting legacy within one of the West Midlands' leading construction consultancies.
