Pegasus Group is seeking a seasoned Compliance professional to join our team as a Compliance Manager or Officer in either our Birmingham or Lichfield office.
This position holds primary responsibility for overseeing the Pegasus Compliance team and reports directly to the Group’s Chief Legal Officer. The successful candidate will evaluate existing compliance protocols and spearhead the design and implementation of new processes to maintain robust compliance standards appropriate to our operational activities.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Developing, implementing, and overseeing Pegasus’ compliance systems to ensure regulatory and ethical standards are met.
- Proactively mitigating regulatory risks through advice, support and training.
- Developing internal policies with guidance for implementation.
- Acting as primary liaison in respect of all external enquiries in relation to business compliance.
- Working with our QHSE Coordinator in relation to Supplier Approval.
- Acting as Pegasus’ Data Protection Officer for the UK
- Supporting the QSHE Coordinator with reviewing Pegasus’ Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure it is fit for purpose
- Managing our Customer Due Diligence checking procedures for all new customers
- Working with our QHSE Coordinator to manage internal compliance audits with local stakeholders
- Playing a key role in external audits
- Working collaboratively with the wider business to promote and embed a compliance culture
- Monitoring and reporting on emerging legislation
- Providing leadership and management of a compliance team
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work well with a range of stakeholders
- Excellent IT skills
- Excellent knowledge of relevant legal and regulatory requirements
- Ability to operate with integrity.
- A ‘can do’, positive attitude
- 10+ years’ experience preferably within the built environment / professional services sector (but all CVs considered)
