What You Earn and What Pegasus Covers for You

Most delivery driver adverts quote a rate and leave you to work out the real-world cost. Here is exactly what Pegasus Couriers pays and what comes at zero cost to you as a contractor. At six-day route pattern per week, a driver on the base rate earns over £1,000 per week gross before the rural zone supplement. Drivers running their own van can offset van depreciation, Hire & Reward premiums, and business mileage against taxable income. See the HMRC self-employed expenses guide for the full list of allowable deductions.

What Your Working Day Looks Like

Routes run Monday to Saturday an average of 9 hours per shift. Drivers who achieve a first-time delivery rate (FTDR) above 90% access preferential zone allocation the following week, putting the most efficient drivers in the sectors that suit them best.

Who Pegasus Couriers Are and Why It Matters to You

Pegasus Couriers operates as a registered Delivery Service Provider (DSP) for Evri, one of the UK's largest parcel carriers. That DSP status means Pegasus Couriers controls the routes, the pay structure, and the support you receive. You contract directly with Pegasus Couriers, not with Evri. Pegasus Couriers recruits, onboards, pays, and manages you; Evri simply supplies the parcel volumes and scan technology. Pegasus Couriers also has a dedicated Evri Manager who is on call to assist you as needed. We have operated delivery networks across Scotland and Northern England for over 20 years. The operations team is accessible directly, not through an automated system, and routes are supported by 24/7 breakdown assistance and dispatch cover.
