Marketing Content Executive

Location: Birmingham / Hybrid

Salary: £25,000–£30,000

Hours: 40 per week

Help us find and tell the stories that matter.

We're looking for a creative, curious and proactive Marketing Content Executive who can bring our organisation to life through great stories, engaging content and strong visuals.

This isn't a role where you'll simply sit behind a desk waiting for content to arrive in your inbox.

We want someone who will get out into our services, build relationships with colleagues and the people we support, uncover stories worth telling and turn them into engaging content for our website, social media, newsletters, recruitment campaigns and wider marketing activity.

One day you might be interviewing a colleague about their career progression; the next, capturing photos at a community event, sharing a positive outcome for someone we support or creating content to promote a priority vacancy.

This is a varied, hands-on role, ideal for someone looking to develop their marketing career while taking ownership of our day-to-day marketing activity.

What you'll be doing

You'll help deliver our marketing strategy, taking responsibility for creating, managing and coordinating content across the organisation.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Proactively finding, researching and developing stories from across our services and teams
  • Creating and publishing engaging content for LinkedIn and Facebook
  • Writing, updating and maintaining website content
  • Producing and coordinating our monthly newsletter
  • Developing recruitment and employer-brand content , including vacancy and employee-referral campaigns
  • Capturing and sharing stories, experiences and positive outcomes from the people we support
  • Celebrating colleague achievements, recognition and career progression
  • Creating content around community activities, events and partnerships
  • Managing and delivering our content calendar , ensuring a consistent flow of engaging content
  • Capturing and sourcing photography and short-form video
  • Building and maintaining a central content, photography and story bank
  • Ensuring our brand, messaging and tone of voice remain consistent across all channels
  • Monitoring and evaluating content and marketing performance to identify opportunities for improvement

Most importantly, you'll be expected to actively seek out content opportunities rather than waiting for stories to come to you.

You’ll build strong relationships across the organisation, understand what's happening within our services and turn everyday moments, achievements and outcomes into content people want to read, watch and share.

What we're looking for

You’ll be a confident writer and natural storyteller, with a good eye for what makes interesting and engaging content.

You’ll enjoy meeting people, asking questions and helping them share their experiences. Whether that’s a colleague talking about their career or someone sharing the difference our services have made to their life.

You’ll also be organised, creative and comfortable turning ideas into a consistent programme of content across multiple channels.

Ideally, you’ll have:

  • Previous experience in content marketing, communications or a similar role
  • Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills , with the confidence to engage with people at all levels
  • A natural ability to spot and develop a good story
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • A good understanding of social media and what drives engagement
  • Photography and/or basic video creation and editing skills
  • Experience using a content management system , ideally WordPress
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • The confidence to work independently, take initiative and collaborate across different teams and locations

Experience in social care, healthcare or another people-focused organisation would be useful, but it's not essential. What's more important is your enthusiasm, willingness to learn and ability to understand people, ask the right questions and turn what you discover into compelling content.

What does success look like?

You’ll know you're making a difference when:

  • Our social media channels are active, engaging and growing their audiences
  • Our website is regularly updated with accurate, relevant and engaging content
  • Our brand, messaging and tone of voice are consistent across our marketing channels
  • Teams and services are regularly contributing stories, photographs and content ideas
  • The achievements of our colleagues and the people we support are being recognised and celebrated
  • We have a strong pipeline of content, supported by a well-managed content calendar and central content library

Sound like you?

If you're creative, passionate about content, full of ideas and looking for an opportunity to grow your marketing career while making a real impact, we’d love to hear from you.
