We are currently recruiting for a Focused Investigation of Rape Support Officer in the Manchester area.
Pay rate: £18.98 per hour PAYE (paid weekly)
Hours: Full-time, part-time & compressed hours are available.
Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday between 08:00 and 19:00
Location: Manchester - Office based
Contract duration: Temporary ongoing - 18 month initial contract
Purpose:
This role is designed to provide advice and guidance to support and develop our detectives and their supervisors. The team’s primary focus will be offences that fall within the categories of adult Rape and Attempted Rape and are held by an Officer in the Case (OIC) from a District CID.
The roles will aim to achieve the following:
- Skills - supporting our detectives to be more efficient and focused with their investigative effort.
- Building confidence - in decision making, rationale and investigative approach.
- Victim-centred - ensuring we improve information and communication with victims.
- Being proactive - with the use of Early Advice from CPS to develop a clear way forward with investigations.
- Evidential Review - Getting it right first time. Supporting our Detective Sergeants to properly supervise case files to ensure they meet both the component and evidential standards before submission to CPS.

- Detective/PIP2 or equivalent police experience
