Are you excited by the opportunity to play a key role in ensuring the safe and efficient movement of bulk materials? We are seeking a Mobile Harbour Crane Operator to support our Bulk Operations team at the Port of Liverpool, and help us keep the world moving!
Your role
In this role you will play a key role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and timely handling of bulk materials, operating Mobile Harbour Cranes to discharge and load cargo from/to vessels. You will work closely with colleagues to safely achieve Bulk Terminals vessel tonnage per hour targets, whilst ensuring compliance with TASCC, BSI, ATEX, COSHH and DSEAR regulations. You will ensure all operations are conducted within Peel Ports Health and Safety, operational, and GAFTA/TASCC guidelines. You will support daily terminal operations, such as deliveries, stockpile monitoring, plant cleaning and administration when required. Identifying opportunities for process improvement and innovation, you will help train and develop staff, ensuring equipment is used as efficiently and safely as possible.
What you’ll bring
You will have previous experience of bulk handling or vessel operations alongside experience with a range of mobile plant. Knowledge of TASSC/GAFTA and other food safety standards would be beneficial. You will have knowledge of conveyor belt systems. You will be comfortable working in a dusty environment, at heights and in confined spaces. With excellent communication skills, you will be able to work as part of a team to ensure operations are completed safely and efficiently.
