Vacancy – Auto Gate Controller
Are you excited to start your career in maritime and logistics and seeking more than the normal 9 to 5 office job? Would you welcome the opportunity to play a key role in the efficient operation of our port? We are looking for an Autogate Controller to join our Customer Services team at the Port of Liverpool and help us keep the world moving!
Your role
As part of the Customer Services Department, you will be the main point of contact for hauliers and drivers at the Port of Liverpool, managing the effective flow of trucks that enter the terminal, to be served exchanging containers and to leave safely and promptly.
In this role you will work from our state-of-the-art Gate system, handling different traffic volumes and co-ordinating traffic management from the road into the port. You will ensure the efficient reporting of faults, supporting engineers and our IT team to resolve these.
You will follow a structured training programme providing all of the development you require to be effective in this role and for your ongoing career progression. You will work a weekly shift pattern working on rotating teams.
What you\’ll bring
You will have customer service experience, ideally in a Transport, Warehousing, Gate or Depot environment. You will have experience of using Microsoft Office packages and managing and reporting data. High levels of attention to detail are also essential as well as strong written and verbal communication skills.
