Vacancy - Human Resources Advisor

We're looking for a HR Advisor who is engaging and a good communicator to work in a varied environment with managers across a range of operational teams.
This role will cover 2 operational sites in King George V Dock and Greenock.
Your Role
In this role, you will play a key part in supporting the Port Director and local management team to deliver divisional targets and objectives.
You will work closely with managers, providing practical HR advice that helps them lead their teams effectively and make fair, consistent decisions.
You will coach, educate and support managers on HR policies, procedures and employment legislation, helping to build confidence and capability across the management population.
You will also support a range of employee relations activity, including investigations, disciplinaries, grievances and capability matters, guiding managers through each stage of the process in a timely and professional way.
You will work with the HR Business Partner to support change, business improvement and wider People Plan activity.
This will include helping to initiate and facilitate local people initiatives that improve ways of working and support business priorities.
You will also proactively manage short and long-term sickness absence and ill health capability cases, working closely with managers to ensure colleagues are supported appropriately.
Where needed, you will make referrals to Occupational Health and help managers follow up on GP or Occupational Health recommendations in a clear and practical way.
