Are you excited to start your career in maritime and logistics with a business which is growing due to £10 million of investment? Are you seeking more than the normal 9 to 5 office job and an opportunity to play a key role in the efficient operation of our Port? We are seeking Smartgate Controllers to join our team at the Port of Heysham.
Your role
As a key member of the team, you will be the main point of contact for resolving queries and challenges for hauliers and drivers entering and leaving the Port to support the effective and safe flow of trucks into and out of the terminal. In this role you will handle different traffic volumes, efficiently reporting faults to ensure quick resolution. You will follow a structured training programme providing all of the development you require to be effective in this role. You will work a weekly shift pattern working on rotating teams.
What you’ll bring
You will have strong communication and engagement skills, ideally having worked in a Transport, Warehousing, Gate or Depot environment. You will be confident in the use of Microsoft Office packages with high levels of attention to detail as well as strong written and verbal communication skills. Experience in using terminal operating systems would be beneficial but not essential as training will be given.
