Vacancy – Marine Compliance and Safety Manager
Are you excited by the opportunity to step into a high-impact role where your marine expertise will directly influence safety, compliance, and operational excellence across two thriving ports? Are you looking for the chance to develop your skills and expertise to support you in developing your career further? We’re seeking a Marine Compliance and Safety Manager to join our marine management team based at the Port of Great Yarmouth but also covering the Port of Sheerness.
Your Role
In this role you will lead on ensuring compliance with statutory marine regulations across two vital ports. This is more than a compliance role – it’s an opportunity to lead change, engage with stakeholders, and shape the future of marine safety within our dynamic port operations.
You will be ensure adherence to all statutory marine safety regulations, working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to develop, implement and continuously improve our marine compliance and safety systems. You will also play a key role in audits, incident reviews and statutory reporting.
What you\’ll bring
You will have:
- Marine experience, either afloat or ashore, with a strong understanding and experience of statutory marine legislation;
- A keen eye for detail and a methodical approach to work;
- A collaborative team player, confident in stakeholder engagement and influencing others;
- UK driving licence;
- Ideally, compliance or safety management experience, but training will be provided;
- NEBOSH/IOSH qualified or willing to work toward this.
