Are you looking for a role where your accuracy, organisation, and purchasing support directly contribute to asset uptime and engineering team success?
Your role
As Junior Stock Buyer, you will join a fast-paced procurement team, working closely with Engineering, Operations and Suppliers to keep our assets operating safely and efficiently. A key focus of your role will be engaging directly with suppliers to purchase inventory materials, ensuring the right parts are sourced at the right time and at the best possible value. You will help manage stock levels, process purchase orders, maintain accurate data, and support the day-to-day rhythm of a busy central stores environment - all while building your skills in procurement and inventory management.
You will take responsibility for monitoring critical items, tracking deliveries, resolving supplier issues, and keeping material data up to date. As part of your supplier engagement, you will also support price negotiations, compare quotations, and help drive value through cost-effective purchasing decisions. Working with teams across the business, you will help improve stock strategies, support reporting and cycle counts, and contribute to a reliable, efficient supply chain. This is a hands-on role where your organisation, accuracy, and enthusiasm will make a real impact from day one.

- Good communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work within processes and maintain high levels of data accuracy.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel (basic formulas, data entry, filtering).
- Ability to prioritise tasks within a busy operational environment.
- A customer-focused and service-oriented mindset.
- Minimum GCSE (or equivalent) pass in English and Maths.
- Desirable:
