Are you ready to shape the future of container operations technology across our container operations? We are seeking three Technology Product Owners to support our Containerisation Operations across Liverpool and Dublin, each focused on a critical operational area: Gate, Landside and Rail Operations; Vessel and Quayside Operations; and Yard and Inventory Management. These are exciting roles for people who enjoy working closely with operational teams and leveraging IT and OT technology, understanding real business needs, and turning them into effective technology solutions that create measurable value.
Your role
You will act as the primary technology-facing representative for your product area, making sure business needs are understood, prioritised and reflected in product decisions. Working across the full product lifecycle, you will evaluate current products, explore future developments, assess demand and value, and work with technical teams and suppliers to understand feasibility, capacity, risk and delivery options.
You will oversee product delivery and transition into service, ensuring solutions align with operational requirements and support our strategic objectives. You will also monitor product performance, define clear KPIs and use insight to guide prioritisation, continuous improvement and future technology strategy. Current key solutions include a mix of IT and OT, with Terminal Operating Systems, Real Time Location Systems, AutoGates and Automated Crane Operations.
Who are we?
Already one of the UK's leading port and logistics companies, we are planning substantial capital investment over the next 5 years to achieve our vision of becoming the UK's leading port operator. Our investments are decarbonizing our operations, which in turn is helping us work towards our goal of having Net Zero Port Operations by 2040. Much of our success depends on our unrivalled facilities and technology. But in our sector, it comes down to having the right talent to enable our organisation to grow.
What you'll bring
- Experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, IT Business Partner or similar, with accountability for product performance, value delivery and end-to-end outcomes;
- The ability to define product vision, roadmaps, priorities and value outcomes in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment;
- An understanding of product delivery lifecycles, agile or iterative delivery, backlog management and transition into service;
- Strong analytical, governance and communication skills, with the confidence to challenge demand, balance priorities and build trusted relationships;
- Commercial awareness, including cost, risk, supplier management, security, compliance, data and support considerations;
- A full driving licence and flexibility to travel between Peel Ports terminals.
Advantageous:
- Experience of operational systems, such as Terminal Operating Systems and Vehicle Booking Systems;
- Experience of OT, Operational Technology.
What we can offer you
In addition to a competitive salary, we have a strong track record of developing our people to expand their skills and experience and develop their careers. Valuing and rewarding our workforce is important to us which is why we offer a fantastic range of flexible benefits to choose from, such as:
