The Product & Execution Architecture team sits at the heart of Execution & Trading, providing specialist systems, technology and architectural expertise across electronic execution. The team works closely with numerous teams and stakeholders to deliver robust, scalable and well-governed execution capabilities for both clients and internal trading desks. This role is suited to an Analyst with some industry experience, who brings a foundational understanding of systems and technology - ideally including Fidessa.

The role requires ownership of workstreams and projects, taking direction on priorities before independently driving delivery through to completion. A strong focus is placed on collaboration, continuous improvement and the ability to articulate clear rationale for change, including documenting requirements, decisions and outcomes to a high standard. The successful candidate will demonstrate a positive, can-do attitude, a willingness to challenge and improve existing processes, and a genuine desire to continue developing their technical, market and execution knowledge.

This is an opportunity for someone with project management skills, enjoys problem-solving, working across teams, and making a tangible impact on the evolution of electronic execution capabilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop a strong understanding of the regulatory environment and behaviours aligned to the FCA Conduct Rules, applying this knowledge consistently across project and delivery work.
  • Support initiatives for technology and platform development, particularly those linked to enhancing the low-touch execution strategy and supporting growth in electronic flow.
  • Coordinate and contribute to trading platform release testing activities, including PHAT releases and Fidessa upgrades, working closely with Technology, Trading and other stakeholders to support safe and timely delivery.
  • Maintain and enhance Product & Execution Architecture documentation, ensuring requirements, decisions and changes are clearly captured and kept up to date.
  • Support the annual RTS 6 governance cycle, assisting with preparation, analysis, documentation and review of algorithmic execution processes.
  • Assist with management information and metrics to support improvements in efficiency; working closely with specialist teams in the business.
  • Work collaboratively across Trading, Technology, Risk and Compliance to deliver projects effectively, manage dependencies and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Take ownership of assigned workstreams, managing tasks from definition through to execution, escalating risks or issues appropriately and ensuring delivery to agreed timelines.
  • Actively seek opportunities to improve processes, controls and ways of working, contributing to efficiency gains and improved execution outcomes.
  • Adhere to all relevant governance frameworks, demonstrating sound judgement and professionalism at all times.
  • Take responsibility for ongoing learning and development, building deeper technical, systems and execution knowledge and increasing effectiveness within the role.
  • Build positive working relationships with third party vendors and internal stakeholders across multiple internal teams.
  • Take an active role on projects as directed by the Head of Team.
  • Contribute to a strong team culture and reputation.

  • Strong technical aptitude with developing expertise across execution platforms, systems and supporting technologies (e.g. Fidessa).
  • Relevant experience working within financial markets, with some exposure to electronic execution, trading or market-facing environments.
  • Solid analytical capability, with good numeracy skills and working knowledge of data analysis tools.
  • Communicates clearly and professionally, able to explain basic technical topics, project updates and issues to a range of stakeholders.
  • Maintains and contributes to high-quality documentation, ensuring requirements, decisions and changes are clearly captured.
  • Developing understanding of electronic execution processes and the technical principles behind different execution methodologies.
  • Growing knowledge of UK and European regulatory and reporting requirements, applying this learning to day-to-day project and delivery work.
  • Willing to question and escalate processes or behaviours that may introduce risk, demonstrating sound judgement and risk awareness.
  • Demonstrates solid project management skills, able to plan, coordinate and deliver workstreams independently while managing dependencies and escalating issues appropriately.
