ROLE SUMMARY AND DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW
The Operations Department is one of the key support functions of the business. It is comprised of three smaller departments, each specialising in different elements of the post trade environment. The teams are responsible for Asset Servicing, Investment Operations Support and Settlements.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform the end-to-end processing of UK and International corporate actions, including dividend and coupon events, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Maintaining and updating the dividend/coupon reconciliation spreadsheet
- Review event detail from numerous internal and external sources
- Identifying and settling market claims
- Managing the Corporate Actions and Dividends mailboxes.
- To communicate directly with counterparties, custodians and clients as required
- Efficiently monitor and resolve internal and external cash and stock discrepancies.
- Escalate any issues immediately
- Proactively look for improvements around processes, controls and efficiencies
Key Capabilities and Knowledge:
- Good communication skills to clearly articulate issues and ideas & to escalate problems to the appropriate level of responsibility
- A self-starter, able to act independently on own initiative as & when require
- Minimum 5 years experience in Asset Servicing
- Understanding of market risk
- Crest GUI experience
- Advanced Microsoft Excel knowledge
- Understanding of BNP platform Neolink is advantageous
- Understanding of ProxyEdge advantageous
