!! Sprinkler Project Manager !!
Due to our continued growth and expansion, we are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Construction Project Manager to join our retrofit team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing construction-based fire protection projects from inception to completion, ensuring that they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. This role requires strong leadership abilities, excellent communication skills, and a thorough understanding of project management methodologies. The Project Manager will collaborate with various stakeholders and utilise project management software to facilitate smooth project execution.
You will be based in or near London and be prepared to travel in and around London and the Home Counties, with occasional travel further afield.
The Project manager (PM) is designated to a contract where they assume control of all aspects of the delivery onsite to the installation of the sprinkler system and if other elements are present such as electrics, they will assume total control of these works being done within the programme and in the sequence they require, they will liaise with the relevant lead in each department and ensure that they are aware of what is needed and also keep up the communication throughout the duration of the project.
Key Responsibilities
- Visit site as required to keep on top of all aspects of the project
- Programme to be adhered to and any delay or potential delay flagged up to SPM/CM asap
- Either update project tracker or weekly update to the SPM via email
- Update the SPM in ample time for progress meeting reports to be formulated and issued
- Attend site meetings as requested by clients
- Respond to clients emails and queries and liaise with other departments where required
- Capture any VOβs and keep quantity surveyor updated and ask QS where required to issue costs
- Health & safety to be checked on site visits and issues reported and recorded and actioned
- Carry out inspections on welfare and storage onsite to ensure kept clean and tidy
- If we have a site team (site manager/RLO etc) ensure they are carrying out the procedures as per CPP
- Keep the site team aware and on top of works ongoing and up coming
- Carry out QA on Trello in accordance with procedure and ensure done in timely manner
- Ensure Trello is kept updated by the site engineers as part of QA
- Liaise with the designated designer on each project where required
- If issues arise that cannot be resolved by PM escalate to SPM/CM asap
Requirements
- Proven experience in construction
- Proven experience in project management
- Strong knowledge of building regulations and health and safety standards.
- Driving Licence
- SMSTS, CSCS Black Card, First Aid
- Strong understanding of cost control principles and budgeting processes. .
- Excellent organisational skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, enabling effective collaboration across teams.
