We’re a FoodTech scale-up with over £25mill of funding, and we want to revolutionise food delivery through the creation and franchising of virtual food brands (brands designed for delivery), operated by anyone that runs a commercial kitchen, there’s 70,000 of them in the UK. We offer kitchen operators everything they need to sell our brands through delivery apps whilst continuing to service their core customers. You run the kitchen, we do the rest! In short, we’re defining the future of the food delivery market! Nobody’s growing as fast as us in the UK, and we’re looking for great people to join us on our journey.
We are looking for a Head of Finance on a permanent basis to join our team.
The Responsibilities:
- Business partnering, team leadership, and development: Partner with the executive team to develop and execute financial strategies that align with the company’s growth objectives. Provide financial insights to support key business decisions. Identify and mitigate financial risks while optimizing opportunities for profitability and scalability. Build and lead the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability and high performance. Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities for team members. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align financial objectives with operational goals.
- Accounting, compliance, and payment processes: Oversee the preparation and accuracy of financial statements in accordance with accounting standards. Liaise with outsourced jurisdictional accountants to ensure overseas subsidiaries financial records are maintained to a legally compliant level. Oversee the annual audit process. Support external accountants to ensure accounting and tax compliance across all markets. Support the junior finance team with technical challenges around accounts payable, and receivable. Implement internal controls to ensure regulatory compliance and reduce the risk of fraud. Oversee the fortnightly partner payment run process, ensuring payments are accurate and delivered to contractual timeframes.
Skills Required
- Problem Solving & Initiative: A forward-thinking mindset with the ability to proactively tackle new challenges and undefined processes. Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment where adaptability and initiative are key. Capable of developing and implementing new processes as the business scales.
- Finance Function Management: Proven ability to lead and manage all aspects of a finance function, from reporting and compliance to strategic planning. Strong organisational skills with the capacity to multi-task across ongoing operations and ad-hoc business needs.
- Financial Expertise: Solid grounding in financial reporting, analysis, budgeting, and forecasting. Previous experience with Xero or similar financial systems is highly desirable.
- Collaboration & Responsiveness: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across departments and support real-time business requests. Clear and effective communicator, capable of translating complex financial issues into accessible insights for non-finance stakeholders. Committed to building trusted relationships at all levels, including with external accountants and partners.
