Principal Sustainability Consultant | London Competitive Salary Plus Benefits | Permanent Ref: DB075 A leading multidisciplinary consultancy is seeking an experienced Principal Sustainability Consultant to join their growing team of environmental and building performance professionals. This role is offering the chance to shape and deliver sustainability strategies across landmark UK and European projects. If you are passionate about whole-life carbon, circular economy, and delivering low-carbon, high-performance buildings, and ready to mentor others while working with forward-thinking clients, this could be the next big step in your career. Key Responsibilities * Lead the delivery of embodied carbon assessments and life cycle assessments (LCAs) in line with GLA and BREEAM requirements * Develop circular economy strategies and prepare Circular Economy Statements for planning submissions * Contribute to or lead decarbonisation plans for existing and new buildings * Manage sustainability certifications (e.g. BREEAM, WELL, LEED, HQM, DREAM, Fitwel), supporting projects through all RIBA stages * Facilitate client workshops and stakeholder meetings to communicate sustainability goals and technical requirements * Write clear and concise technical reports, ensuring outputs are of a consistently high standard * Support the development of internal tools, frameworks, and methodologies * Mentor and guide junior sustainability consultants * Take responsibility for project budgets, timelines, and resource allocation About You * A degree in a relevant subject (e.g., Environmental Design, Architecture, Engineering, Sustainability) * Relevant experience delivering sustainability solutions within the built environment * Proven track record in LCA, carbon management, and sustainability certification schemes * Excellent communication skills and confidence in client-facing roles * Strong project management experience, including financial oversight * Passion for innovation, low-carbon design, and creating positive environmental impact * Experience working across project stages from concept to post-occupancy is highly desirable What’s on Offer * Competitive salary and annual bonus scheme * 27 days holiday + bank holidays * Matched pension contributions * Private medical insurance & life assurance * Flexible/hybrid working arrangements * Supportive leadership and a collaborative team culture * Commitment to ongoing professional development Interested?
