Are you an experienced ECoW Ecologist looking to take ownership of a major project with real responsibility on-site? We’re working with a well-established environmental consultancy that has secured an exciting, long-term project near Milton Keynes, and they are looking for a confident Ecologist to lead Ecological Clerk of Works duties and manage contractor compliance on-site.
The Role
This is a hands-on, site-based position where you’ll play a key role in ensuring ecological compliance throughout construction. Key responsibilities include:
- Acting as the lead ECoW on-site
- Supervising and managing a range of contractors to ensure compliance with ecological requirements
- Delivering toolbox talks and site briefings
- Overseeing mitigation measures and protected species works
- Producing concise site reports and maintaining accurate records
- Liaising with project managers, clients, and site teams
About You
To be considered, you should have:
- 3–5+ years’ ECoW experience
- Strong experience managing contractors on-site
- Solid understanding of UK ecological legislation and best practice
- Confident communication skills and ability to challenge when needed
- Full UK driving licence
Protected species licences (e.g. bats, GCN) would be advantageous but are not essential.
