Role Overview: Due to some very successful contract wins we are seeking a Senior MSP Infrastructure Engineer with strong experience across Microsoft 365, Azure, networking, and firewall technologies to join our growing technical team. This is a hands‑on technical role suited to someone who has worked in a fast‑paced MSP environment and is comfortable taking ownership of complex support issues, infrastructure projects, and customer relationships. You will be the senior escalation point within the support team while also working directly on Azure infrastructure, FortiGate firewalls, networking, cyber security improvements, and Microsoft 365 environments. This role will report into the Service Desk Manager.

Key Responsibilities:
- Senior technical escalation point across customer environments and infrastructure.
- Review and improve existing customer infrastructure, identifying risks, improvements, and recommendations.
- Take technical ownership of customer environments and lead infrastructure improvements, migrations, and remediation work.
- Work with Microsoft 365, Azure, Intune, and firewall technologies.
- Configure, deploy, and maintain systems including switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless solutions.
- Troubleshoot networking, Wi‑Fi, connectivity, VoIP, and security‑related issues.
- Lead and assist with onboarding, migrations, and technical setup activities for new customers.
- Ensure best practices in Cyber Security are implemented and maintained.
- Travel to customer sites when required for onsite support and project work.
- Collaborate with colleagues to deliver excellent customer service and meet SLAs.
- Support end‑users with remote and onsite assistance by troubleshooting and resolving complex IT issues efficiently and professionally.
- Act as a mentor to the apprentices within the support team, providing guidance, training, and knowledge sharing.
- Stand in for the Service Desk Manager during holidays and absences.
Requirements:
- 5+ years’ experience working within an MSP environment in a senior technical support or infrastructure engineering role.
- Proven experience in a senior 2nd line or 3rd line infrastructure support role.
- Strong Azure infrastructure experience including virtual machines, virtual networking, Entra ID, storage, backup, and cloud security.
- Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems.
- Strong networking knowledge including firewall configuration, VLANs, routing, switching, VPNs, site‑to‑site connectivity, wireless infrastructure, and firewall troubleshooting.
- Deliver and support infrastructure projects including server migrations, firewall replacements, Azure deployments, Microsoft 365 migrations, and office/site rollouts.
- Strong customer‑facing skills with the ability to build trusted technical relationships.
- Good understanding of Cyber Security principles and best practices across Microsoft 365, endpoint, and network environments.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage technical priorities, and take ownership of customer outcomes.
- Right to work in the UK and Full UK driving license and willingness to travel to customer sites. (Essential)
- Excellent communicator and interpersonal skills (key to this role).
Highly Desirable:
