Job description

Pebble Ecommerce is looking for an

Operations Manager to join our team! You will be responsible for helping manage the day-to-day operations across our two sister DTC ecommerce brands — one focused on dogs and one focused on cats.

You’ll work closely with the founders across customer support, suppliers, inventory, supply chain, new product development, Shopify issues, and general operational problem solving.

We are looking to hire someone with

2–3+ years of relevant experience .

The ideal candidate has prior experience working inside a Shopify / DTC ecommerce business and is highly organized, learns quickly, solves problems independently, and is willing to get hands-on.

This role has significant room to grow.

The goal is for you to learn our current processes, take recurring operational problems off the founders’ plate, and gradually become the default owner of day-to-day operations.

Who are we?

Our mission is to develop products that make caring for pets easier while improving their health and happiness.

Since launching, we have grown rapidly through digital marketing and ecommerce, building passionate communities of pet owners across both brands.

We operate with a small but mighty team focused on innovation, speed, and continuous growth, and we’re excited to bring on an Operations Manager to play a pivotal role in helping us scale.

What is our culture like & who is a good fit?

Culture-fit is our #1 factor when hiring!

We have a genuine will-to-win.

No work is beneath us if it moves us towards our goals.

We utilize creativity to do more with less — and quickly.

We use data to make decisions and live by the following core values

\"work smart\", \"overdeliver\", \"speed is king\" and \"better everyday\".

We love learning — every problem is an opportunity to grow.+-

If you want a stress-free corporate 9-5 job, this isn't it.

If you want to challenge yourself, work directly with the founders, play a huge role in scaling two fast-growing ecommerce brands, and grow into a much bigger role over time, you have come to the right place.

Key Objectives

  • Manage our Customer Support Lead and oversee the broader CS function across both brands.
  • Manage day-to-day supplier communication and help ensure production timelines, samples, packaging, and other supplier matters stay on track.
  • Help manage inventory and supply chain issues, identifying potential stockouts or delays before they become larger problems.
  • Communicate with fulfillment partners and help resolve operational issues relating to inventory, shipping, and orders.
  • Assist in new product development, helping coordinate suppliers, samples, timelines, packaging, and launch readiness.
  • Handle operational Shopify and website issues as they arise.
  • Work closely with the founders to learn our current operational processes and gradually take ownership of them.
  • Take recurring operational problems off the founders’ plate and become the default person responsible for solving day-to-day operational issues.
  • Identify inefficient or repetitive processes and help improve, document, or automate them.
  • Work across teams to ensure operational projects and issues are followed through to completion.

Requirements

  • Fully remote.
  • Fluent in English.

2–3+ years of relevant work experience.

  • Previous experience working inside a

Shopify / DTC ecommerce business is strongly preferred.

  • Experience across ecommerce operations such as customer support, suppliers, inventory, fulfillment, or supply chain.
  • Strong problem-solving ability and able to figure things out independently without needing constant direction.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Learns quickly and is comfortable picking up new systems, processes, and tools.
  • Willing to get hands-on and do whatever is required to solve a problem.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable working across multiple projects and priorities at once.
  • Excellent cultural fit as per our values above.
  • Hungry, ambitious, and excited to take on increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Excited to play a big role in scaling the company and work closely with the founders.
  • Accountabilities
  • Manage and support our Customer Support Lead.
  • Oversee recurring customer support and operational issues.
  • Manage day-to-day supplier communication and follow-ups.
  • Help track inventory levels and identify supply chain risks.
  • Coordinate with fulfillment partners when issues arise.
  • Troubleshoot Shopify and ecommerce operational problems.
  • Assist with new product development and launch coordination.
  • Ensure operational projects are followed through and completed on time.
  • Identify recurring issues and create better processes to prevent them.
  • Learn founder-owned operational processes and progressively take ownership of them.
  • Become the default owner of day-to-day operational problems across both brands.

How Our Hiring Works & How We Operate

When hiring, we’ll work with you to define the KPIs you’ll be responsible for and set targets. This removes ambiguity around wondering if you’re doing a good job after you start.

Initial interview, followed by a more in-depth interview + test project, and a final interview to ensure culture fit.

We plan to hire within ~8 - 10 days of conducting these interviews.

We pride ourselves on timely responses and updates for applicants.

For this specific role, we will walk you through the long-term vision and opportunities that have us excited about the business — and how you fit in.

We will show you our current structure, the responsibilities you’ll take over, and where we are headed.

Salary Expectation

USD $2,500 to $4,500 per month , depending on experience and location.

We are optimizing for someone with strong potential, ambition, and ownership who can grow into a much bigger role over time — rather than an expensive senior operator.
