Funeral Operative – The Role
This is an active role, where no two days are the same. Offering a wide range of practical funeral related tasks that will involve heavy lifting, the role will also include chauffeuring our funeral cars and therefore a smart appearance and a full, clean driving licence is essential.
You Will
- Support ceremonial aspects of funerals.
- Work with nursing homes, hospitals and other facilities to bring individuals into our care.
- Prepare and trim coffins.
- Maintain funeral vehicles and ambulance fleets to a high standard of cleanliness and presentation.
- Work in the mortuary environment in the care, preparation and presentation of those in our care. This will be introduced to you gradually and under supervision.
Funeral Operative – What We Need From You
Existing funeral professionals and those who have never worked in the funeral professional are equally welcome to apply. Full training will be provided. The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate the following abilities and skills:
- Be conscientious and reliable, flexible, resourceful and well-presented.
- Be punctual with good time management.
- Be a good team player.
- Be empathetic and able to communicate with people at all levels.
- Have a clean driving licence access to your own transport.
- Have the ability to carry out a range of physical tasks including heavy lifting.
