About us
Welwyn Garden City PCN brings together a group of GP practices working collaboratively to improve healthcare for our local population. Behind the scenes, effective financial management is essential to everything we do and that’s where you come in.
Job responsibilities
This is a varied and genuinely interesting part‑time role that sits at the heart of how our PCN operates. You won’t just be crunching numbers in the background – you’ll be a trusted and valued member of our team. Our network consists of four practices, which means plenty of variety and the chance to build strong working relationships with practice managers and partners. We’re a collaborative bunch, and we genuinely value the contribution our bookkeeper makes to keeping things running smoothly.
- Keeping our financial records accurate, organised, and up to date
- Processing invoices, payments, and expense claims in a timely manner
- Carrying out bank reconciliations and producing clear, concise month‑end reports
- Working alongside our external accountants and pulling together everything needed for year‑end
- Tracking our various PCN funding streams and keeping a close eye on expenditure against budget
- Flagging any financial anomalies or concerns to the finance lead and/or clinical director promptly
- Helping us to continually improve our financial processes as the PCN grows and evolves
It’s a role where your work really matters. Good financial oversight directly supports our ability to employ staff, run services, and invest in our local community’s health, so you’ll always know your contribution counts.
